5 common questions answered
NHTSA recall information identifies three safety concerns for certain 2017 Ford Taurus vehicles. Corroded steering heat shield fasteners may allow the shield to detach, causing steering gear overheating and greater steering effort at low speeds. Certain mechanical key ignition systems may allow the key to come out outside Park, creating a rollaway risk if the parking brake is not applied. On vehicles with the specified performance or police equipment, rear toe links may fracture and cause a sudden handling change. Waiting can leave a safety issue unresolved, so check the VIN and schedule service promptly, even if the vehicle seems to drive normally.
