5 common questions answered
NHTSA recall information identifies five recalls affecting certain 2014 Ford Taurus vehicles. Axle shaft defects may cause loss of Park function, unintended movement, loss of motive power, or loss of power reaching the wheels. On vehicles with the specified performance equipment, rear toe links may fracture and suddenly change handling. A fuel pump module component may overheat, causing stalling or preventing the engine from starting. In road-salt conditions, license plate lamp corrosion may create a short circuit and fire risk. Waiting can leave a safety defect unresolved, so a free VIN check is a practical first step even when the vehicle appears to drive normally.
