This year is Ford's seventh consecutive year being honored as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies® by Ethisphere Institute. Ford is the only automaker to receive this distinction for 2016, and is one of only 131 honorees.
Ford is well-known for their commitment to the environment and sustainability. Ford builds new vehicles using post-consumer or post-industrial recycled materials, as well as renewable materials like soy-based seat cushion foam. At the end of a vehicle's life, Ford goes through great lengths to ensure parts are recycled -- the company has even been developing biomimetic adhesive based on gecko feet to improve recyclability of cabin materials.
Ethics is not all about the environment, however. It's also about people.
Ford Motor Company itself made Forbes's 2015 America's Best Employers list, and ranks as one of LinkedIn's 100 Most In-Demand Employers. Ford recently became the first automaker to join the EICC, a non-profit organization made up of electronics companies dedicated to improving social conditions in their global supply chains. Now Ford will be making certain that even its third-party suppliers maintain high standards for working conditions.
