5 common questions answered
NHTSA’s two reported recalls address risks that deserve prompt attention. The Transmission Gear Position Indication issue may shorten the “Transmission Not In Park” warning and chime, creating a risk of unintended movement if someone leaves the vehicle before selecting Park. The Instrument Panel issue may leave the cluster blank at startup, hiding speed, fuel, temperature, and safety-system warnings. Waiting can leave these conditions unresolved during everyday driving. An authorized Ford dealer can check the VIN and complete the applicable reprogramming remedy at no charge, helping restore the intended warnings and information your Mustang is designed to provide.
